We All Fall Down: Eliminating Collisions in Baseball

Buster Posey’s gruesome injury during a hard collision at the plate has raised questions about the safety of the league’s catchers. Should the league ban the hard hits because it poses a risk to the vulnerable backstops? Do we want to treat catchers, previously known for their toughness, like quarterbacks in the NFL?
